Cold Hands, Warm Heart! by Becki Adams

Hello Simple Stories friends, Becki here, to share a layout with you that I created with the brand new Feelin’ Frosty collection. This collection is the definition of cute!! I absolutely love the winter color palette with the pop of pink, so fun!

I couldn't decide whether I wanted a pink background or a blue background, so I decided to do both! I cut the blue polka dot patterned paper and the peony color vibe cardstock in half diagonally. I adhered both of the triangles to a scrap cardstock background.

There are TONS of adorable, colorful snowflakes in this collection. I used many of them on this layout. I wanted snowflakes all along the diagonal line. I combined stickers, puffy stickers, foam stickers, and die cuts to create tons of interest and dimension.

Have you heard that Simple Stories has NEW washi?!? Simple Stories washi now comes in different widths. I immediately fell in love with the thinner washi and couldn't wait to try a new technique with it. I put washi under my journaling strips. I LOVE how it turned out!  That pop of pink peeking out from around the journaling is perfect.

Of course, I had to use the page pieces for my title and embellishments. This adorable snowman was a must for this layout. It is, after all, telling a story about a snowman. It’s kind of hard to see in the photos that I hand stitched the title. I used a charcoal embroidery thread and stitched right on the charcoal lines of the die cut. Hand stitching the titles in page pieces is one of my favorite techniques. It only takes a few minutes and it makes such a big impact. Here’s another example of a stitched title

I had SO much fun playing with the Feelin’ Frosty collection. I cannot wait for winter 2021 memories! If you’d like to see how this layout came together, there is a process video over on my YouTube channel. I’ll meet you there! Have a wonderful day, my friends!!
