Reach For The Stars! by Becki Adams

Hello Simple Stories friends, Becki here to share with you a layout that I created with the new Howdy collection.

This collection is adorable and FULL of adorable icons and the best bright color palette! I jumped into creating with this collection by hand stitching and fussy cutting.

The large titles within the page pieces are a favorite of mine. I use them all.the.time! For this project, I decided to stitch around each letter with coordinating embroidery thread. I took the “howdy” die cut with me to the craft store to make sure that I was purchasing the right color of embroidery thread. If you decide to stitch around the page title make sure that you poke your holes far enough from the edge so that they don’t tear through when you’re stitching. Mine tore through a little bit but I quickly fixed them with some washi and liquid glue. You’d never guess that there was a tear! I LOVE how the finished title turned out!! I cannot wait to stitch around even more page pieces in other Simple Stories collections!

Along the top of my layout, I added a fussy cut banner from the “Yee-Haw” patterned paper. It was a fun fussy cutting project! I adhered the banners to the top of the background paper using liquid adhesive along the rope portion. Then I gently bent the bottom of the banners up to create a little bit of texture. I added a pop of dimension with self adhesive brads too.

Of course, I had to add journaling using the tags patterned paper. Tags are a personal patterned paper favorite of mine. The tag paper within the Howdy collection is no exception! I created a pocket for the journaling with a notebook die cut from the Journaling bits pack.

I had SO much fun creating with the Howdy collection. I cannot wait to see what YOU create with this collection!! I’m sure you’ll fall in love with it just like I did. Thank you for stopping by the Simple Stories blog. Happy crafting!
