Hello there friends-it’s Tya! I am sharing my latest batch of handmade cards today using the lovely new What’s Cookin' collection! As one who adores cooking – this collection was right up my alley! I can’t wait to share these with you – so let’s get started!
My first card was made using one of the 3x4 Element cards. This particular one is in the 6x8 paper pad. I turn to these time and time again when making cards. Many of these cards have sentiments on them that are perfect for card-making! This one with the adorable pink oven is surrounded by some of the ephemera from the collection.
Card number 2 is made with another 3x4 card, this time from the 3x4 Elements paper. I added a fun, homey touch with a white doily from my stash to emit a cozy feeling to this card. The collection has many elements that focus on family and home. I added the cute red cottage and tree from the Bits& Pieces to the card. Some lovely florals, also from the Bits & Pieces are added to the bottom of the card.
I had a lot of fun layering up this card! I used a large Mason jar die cut from the Journal Bits & Pieces as a base to add the cute kitchen curio cabinet which is from the Chipboard stickers. Love the dimension it adds to my card front. I layered up one of the journal spots from the Journal Bits & Pieces with the “Home” – also a Chipboard sticker. I then added a sticker strip from the Cardstock Stickers under the “Home” and then a cute aqua mixing bowl from the Bits & Pieces. The card is finished off by tying some twine to the Mason jar topped with a red brad from the Decorative Brads.
Using some of the awesome Chipboard Frames is one of my new favorite ways to add dimension to my card fronts. 3 pretty papers from the 6x8 paper pad are on the background. Inside the frame sits a fun red mixer from the Bits &Pieces. I also added a few more items on the outside of the frame – the 2 flour and sugar bags and a loaf of yummy-looking bread. The card sentiment is from the Bits& Pieces. I also used a few red enamel dots to the frame.
Returning back to the 3x4 cards, I added one more to this card base as my sentiment. I then layered the card up with one of the super cute Layered Chipboard Stickers and added a fun piping bag die cut from the Journal Bits& Pieces. This card is also accented with a notebook paper note card, some hearts, and a tag from the Tag Element paper tied with some twine! I loved the colors on this one too!
The row of houses from the Cardstock Stickers became the star of the show on this card. I used one of the 4x6 Element Cards as my background and then added the “Home” from the Layered Chipboard, the adorable polka dot scallop sticker border, and a beautiful orange tree to the card. I added one more sticker sentiment with an aqua Decorative Brad to finish off this card.
I turned to the 4x4 Element paper for this card. I used a circle die to cut out the “Family, Home, Kitchen, Food” card. I then mounted the circle on a doily and added it to my background paper of the aqua ledger side of the “Let’s Eat” 12x12 paper. The card was decorated with the Chipboard Apron, a pie and measuring spoons for interest. The corners are decorated with some of the Pink Enamel Dots.
I like to make little scenes sometimes with the die cuts and so I did just that on this final card. The stove and table are mounted on some adorable red and white polka dot 6x8 pattern papers. I also added the fun wood grain paper to the bottom of the card to mimic a wood floor. The cute frying pan I used for the card sentiment is a Cardstock Sticker tied with some twine added to a red rectangle Journal Bits& Pieces. A basket of apples and a cute yellow Decorative Brad were also added.
As you can see, I had oodles of fun creating these fun cards. They would be great to give a friend along with a plate of handmade treats or even to a cherished family member. This is a wonderful collection that I hope I have inspired you to use. Thank you for stopping by today- Happy Crafting Friends!
