Hello Simple Stories fans! Suzanna here today to share with you an interactive Christmas layout created using the Baking Spirits Bright collection. I incorporated a Simple Stories Photo Flip that contains one of the recipe cards available as part of this delicious baking collection!
Here’s the layout;
Central to the layout is the interactive element. Available with this collection are recipe cards. I typed out and printed on to one of the cards the recipe of the cookies I made for a work cookie exchange. The same cookie as is in one of the square photos at the top of the layout. This is “housed” within a 4x6 Photo Flip from the SN@P collection that is adhered to the back of the layout and scored so as to be able to “flip” the clear protector up to reveal what will be a photo underneath.
The Flip is anchored by the red apron from the Bits & Pieces. By placing adhesive on only the right side of the ephemera piece, the right corner of the Flip is easily slid underneath thus securing the Flip. I love that I can take the recipe card out and use it for future baking endeavors and not worry about the whole layout being at risk for chocolate splatter and other baking mishaps.
One of the 12x12 pieces of patterned that I always buy from every Simple Stories collection is the Tags Paper. I love the ability to choose between the decorative tag and the journaling tag. This little mouse with her Special Delivery was a no brainer for this layout. While I may not have had to go far to deliver my little package of cookies to each co-worker, it was a fun and festive way to spread Holiday cheer.
This little cluster beneath the Bits & Pieces journaling block is busy, reflective of the busyness of Christmas baking. There’s a fun mix of Foam Stickers, Cardstock Stickers, Sticker book stickers and Bits & Pieces.
The title of the page “We Whisk You Happy Holidays” was inspired by a piece of patterned paper from the 6x8 paper pad with the “We Whisk You” printed on it. Each of the words was fussy cut from the page. The green “Happy Holidays” banner from the Foam Stickers completes the title.
