Hello friends, it’s @vickiscraps, and I wanted to share my layout using the new Vintage Essentials collection. Now, vintage colours are not normally in my comfort zone, but I have a stack of old black and white photos from my husband’s parent’s wedding, and this collection was perfect. I really enjoyed making this layout and am super happy with the end result.
I started with the Be Curious paper, which has an off-white grungy effect with some faded text and lines. I wanted to add to this using the Butterfly Rub-ons set in the collection. I added some at the side of where my photo would go and around the edges and corners of the paper. The hearts in particular are perfect for a wedding photo.
After placing my photo, I created a cluster in the bottom right corner using some florals, tags and a chipboard frame piece.
I also added a viewfinder piece and added some messy thread to add additional texture to the layout.
I used a butterfly in the top right to balance the layout. I folded up the wings a little for extra dimension on the page.
My title was made up using a die cut ‘happy’ and a foam sticker ‘day’ and I added some embellishments to the top right of the photo to create a vertical feature.
Finally, I tied some thick waxed thread around the layout twice and tied it with a bow - this brings all the embellishments on the right of the photo together - without it, they would appear unbalanced.
As I said, I really enjoyed making this layout and documenting this moment for the first time. I hope it has inspired you to pull out your old photographs and start scrapping!
