Hi friends! It’s Becki Adams here, and I’m so excited to share one of my latest Halloween layouts featuring the adorable Spooky Things collection from Simple Stories. Halloween is one of my favorite times to create — I love capturing all the fun, color, and excitement that comes with trick-or-treating night!
For this layout, I wanted to do something a little different and create a big, bold spiderweb design using tags and twine. I started with a soft gray patterned background and added purple spider web paper strips across the top and bottom of the page. This helped anchor the design and set the Halloween mood right away.
Next, I cut several tags from patterned papers in the Spooky Things collection and arranged them along the top and bottom of the layout. I threaded black twine through each tag and criss crossed it across the center of the page to create a playful spider web effect. Then, I added a few tiny spider embellishments along the twine for a little extra spooky fun!
My photo takes center stage on the right side of the page, matted with a colorful polka-dot pattern that ties in all the fun Halloween colors — orange, purple, green, and black. To finish the design, I created a title cluster along the bottom with the phrase “Spooky Smiles!”, layered over pumpkins, bats, and spider accents.
This layout came together so quickly and is such a fun way to use tags in a creative, interactive way! If you’re looking for a unique Halloween design, try making your own twine “spiderweb” — it’s a great way to add texture and movement to your page.
I love how this layout captures the joy and laughter of Halloween night — definitely too cute to spook!
