Hello Simple Stories friends!
It's Nathalie with you today to share some new inspiration featuring the fun, colorful, and versatile FUN TIMES collection. This collection is just so full of color, fun designs, and sublime icons that are perfect to document those especial days at the Fair, Summer, and all in between. I had so much fun documenting some past memories of my kids at the fair.
This layout is Summer perfection. Just love all the color, icons, and those fun sentiments that made this page come together in a short time. Let's take a closer look at all the details in this layout.
I wanted to play with paper and all those fun patterns; so, I started by cutting the burst design in the What A Blast paper. I wanted the design on the paper to create the perfect position for the photo. This paper was trimmed to about 6.5", then carefully trim the white spaces of the burst. To build the background I cut white cardstock and Admit One paper to fit into a 11x11" square before framing them with the b side of This Way paper. I took advantage of the bottom edge of the white cardstock to place the cut paper burst atop of it. I little bit of foam adhesive to help the burst design pop from the page.
I backed the photos with papers from the 6x8 paper pad, then set them in the center of the paper burst in the background. My idea was to fill the entire bottom edge of the cut-out paper with embellishments. I added tickets to the left of the photos then added a few of the banners and a few foam stars around the cluster.
I repeated the idea of clustering elements to the right of the photos; however, this time I am using icons and a few other embellishments to complete cover the bottom edge of the burst paper with them.
To balance the two large clusters at the sides of the photos, I created a large cluster of embellishments at the top right corner of the photos. There are so many fun icons in this collection that it made it so easy to put this together. The small repetition of elements make the page cohesive and balanced.
To complete the page, I combined pieces from the foam adhesive phrases and chipboard icons to create a title at the bottom of the photos. I brought some of the black foam star icons to bring all the page together.
I just love how this all turned out, and I hope it inspires you to take a closer look at the new FUN TIMES collection. I cannot wait to see what you create with it.
XO
