Hey Simple Stories friends! It’s Cheryl on the blog today with a fun project using the new Hearth & Holiday collection.
It’s the Holiday season, which means if you’re like me: shopping for last minute gifts. Here is a fun handmade gift idea for your friends and loved ones to document their own December album - presented in the most adorable little mini gift bag.
I created the two gift bags using 12x12 patterned paper from the collection kit, added eyelets and seam binding for the handles, to give it that real gift/shopping bag feel. I have also lined them with tissue paper - imagine receiving your gift in one of these! The bigger one also fits the mini album perfectly. I used ephemera pieces as well as a few title foam stickers, which are perfect for larger surfaces.
The mini album is just a little bit over 3x4 inches and features two chipboard covers; all of the pages and covers have been machine stitched with gold metallic thread (because we need a bit of sparkle this season) and held together with two red album rings. It’s super easy to open up the album rings and add more pages or photos (or memorabilia) - making it the perfect album to gift to someone who can fill it up and customize it with their own memories.
All of the colours and elements of Hearth & Holiday are so wonderful and traditional and just make me so happy at this time of the year. To finish my projects, I have sprinkled enamel dots from the collection in my mini album, as well as gift bags - they always add the perfect finishing touch.
