'tis the Season

'tis the Season

Hello everyone, it’s @vickiscraps here today wishing you a very merry Christmas and sharing a layout that I have made using the Simple Vintage Christmas Lodge collection. This collection is full of really gorgeous traditional Christmas colours and icons and is perfect for those photos you’ve been holding on to for years. I used a photo that is 42 years old of My Dad, sister and me sitting under the Christmas tree.

I started by cutting a large heart from the reverse side of the 4x6 Elements paper - it’s a really pretty vintage red, and a slightly larger heart from the reverse of the Journal Elements paper which is a black and white paper. I distressed the edges and layered them together to create a mat for my page. I also sewed in gold thread around the red heart to add some more texture - a single line of straight stitching and then some zigzag stitching to add an extra bit of glorious gold.

From the 'tis the Season paper, I cut the large floral from the corner and placed in underneath the heart on the left side to balance out the cluster I created on the right side of the page.

For my photo cluster, I used one of the chipboard frames and layered with a foam sticker title and some other embellishments from the chipboard and foam stickers along with one of the pretty brads to bring in some more green. I finished with some gold splatters to match the stitching.

I really hope you can find some inspiration from my layout - I really enjoyed making this and you can see exactly how it came together via my process video here: https://youtu.be/J_rZjXSfl5Q
Thank you so much for looking, until next time, Vicki x
