Today I’m excited to share a mini album using the new Rustic Legend collection and this album is all about keeping things simple, meaningful, and photo focused. For this project, I really wanted the pictures to take center stage, so I leaned into the 6x8 paper pad and let it do most of the heavy lifting—while still adding in all those fun embellishments we love from Simple Stories.

For the base of my album, I created a 5" x 5 1/4" mini using chipboard. I covered both sides with patterned papers from the 6x8 pad and then stitched everything together using white thread to add a bit of subtle texture. I love how that stitching detail gives the album a finished, handmade feel without being too fussy.

To bind the album, I used my Cinch machine with a spiral binding. It’s such a quick and easy method, and it makes flipping through the pages super smooth and interactive.

As you flip through, you’ll notice I mixed in a variety of page sizes. The main pages are 5" x 5 1/4", but I also created smaller 3" x 4" inserts using the cut-apart elements from the paper pad. This adds a fun layer of interest and keeps the album feeling dynamic.

For the photos, I focused mostly on black-and-white images, with a few color photos mixed in that coordinate with the collection. This album is all about documenting some of my favorite guys in my life—just capturing those everyday moments and telling a little bit of their story.

At the back of the album, I added a simple pocket page. I cut a piece of patterned paper to approximately 3" x 5" and stitched along three sides to create the pocket. Inside, I tucked in a few handmade tags created from leftover scraps and added white and orange twine for a little extra detail.

Throughout the album, I really played with dimension and texture. I used a mix of foam stickers, cardstock stickers, brads, and bits & pieces, along with foam adhesive to pop things up. I also incorporated paper tearing and distressing to give it that slightly rugged, masculine feel.

It’s been a while since I’ve created a more masculine album, and I have to say—I absolutely love how this one turned out. It feels meaningful, textured, and full of personality.

I’d love to hear what you think—let me know in the comments!
