Hi friends,
I had so much fun creating this happy little project using the Sunny Days collection! For this mini album, I went with a vertical ring-bound format sized at 4 1/4" x 6 1/4"—just big enough to hold your favorite 4x6 photos while still feeling cute and compact.
This entire album was made with the 6x8 paper pad and lots of fun bits & pieces, which made coordinating everything so easy and cohesive. Here’s a peek inside:
Cover Details:
I started with the pink polka dot paper for the front and stitched all around the edge using metallic gold thread for a touch of sparkle. I layered in ephemera, enamel dots, and brads to give it that finished look. I also added eyelets to each page to clean up the punch holes at the top, where the pages are attached to the binding ring.
Inside Pages:
- Page 1: A 3x4 photo backed with a 3x4 cut-apart and layered with ephemera and a chipboard heart.
- Page 2: The film strip piece from the big bits & pieces was the star here layered with embellishments, popped up with foam for dimension, and finished with enamel dots and brads.
- Page 3: A full 4x6 photo backed with striped patterned paper and embellished with a mix of chipboard and die-cuts. I love the texture the foam adds!
- Page 4: Another 3x4 photo accented with three stacked ephemera pieces and a large brad. On the reverse, I added a giant ice cream embellishment with the word "sweet" for a fun pop!
- Page 5: Another 4x6 photo, again backed with the striped paper. This one has a tone-on-tone blue and orange color scheme, inspired by my son’s football jersey. I added embellishments directly to the photo—such a fun technique to try!
Back Cover:
I stitched and layered patterned papers and finished with embellishments to create a “title page” feel on the back. The mix of polka dots and color blocks makes me so happy—and the Sunny Days palette is just divine.
If you’ve got a 6x8 paper pad and some coordinating embellishments on hand, I highly recommend trying this format. It’s such a fun way to document everyday memories while playing with pattern, texture, and layers.
