Take Note Cards

Take Note Cards

Hello crafty friends - it's Tya! Happy New Year!! I'm up with my next batch of handmade cards!

There’s just something about the Take Note collection from Simple Stories that makes my heart happy. The soft colors, vintage office vibes, sweet florals, and thoughtful sentiments all come together perfectly for card making. I had so much fun mixing patterns, layering ephemera, and adding cozy details like twine, buttons, and enamel dots to create a set of handmade cards that feel encouraging, cheerful, and full of heart.

I used many of the products from the collection, including the 6x8 Paper Pad, the Tag Elements paper,  the Journal Elements paper,  the 3x4 Elements paper, the Cardstock Stickers, Foam Stickers, the Chipboard Stickers,  all of the  Bits and Pieces die cut packs, the Decorative Brads, the Enamel Dots,  and a few coordinating sheets of the Color Vibe cardstocks that go with the collection. I also added some crochet thread, wood buttons, and some staples for some added texture and dimension

Let’s take a closer look at each card and how it came together.

All the Good Things Card

This card features soft, layered, patterned papers topped with a large heart and a sweet little bird focal point. I added buttons and twine for texture and tucked in floral die cuts to frame the sentiment. The muted colors and gentle layering give this card a warm, thoughtful feel that’s perfect for encouragement or gratitude.

Hey, It’s Your Day Card

Bold and fun, this card starts with a playful polka-dot background paired with gingham for contrast. The “Hey” sentiment from one of the Tag Element cut aparts really steals the show, layered front and center with florals and a binder clip accent. A simple button with twine finishes it off and adds just the right touch of dimension.

You Got This Typewriter Card

I love how the vintage typewriter ephemera anchors this design. Layers of a few of the Journal Element cut aparts create a stacked look behind the typewriter, while florals and a cork ampersand add texture and interest. The small sticker "You Got This!" sentiment tucked at the top makes this a great card for encouragement or support.

Hello Banner Card

This card is all about cheerful layers and fun details. I used a mix of polka dots and ledger-style die cuts, then added a layered tag cluster at the top. The “Hello” banner stretches across the card, drawing your eye, while Enamel Dots and florals add a pop of personality.

Focus on the Good Things Camera Card

The camera image is such a fun focal point on this card. I layered it over patterned papers with a subtle color palette, then added florals and a ticket piece for extra charm. A small sentiment sticker from the Cardstock Sticker Sheet grounds the design and ties everything together beautifully. I love the pop of dimension the two Decorative Brads give this card!

Find Your Path Card

This card has a softer, more reflective feel. I layered floral papers with a central sentiment panel made from one of the 3x4 Element cup aparts and added a globe die cut with enamel dots for shine. The heart border along the bottom adds a sweet finishing touch without overwhelming the design.

Hello Floral Heart Card

Bright and happy, this card features a bold “Hello” sentiment from the Chipboard Stickers, layered over 2 index card die cuts. The striped heart and Chipboard butterfly accents add movement and softness, while a button and twine bring in that cozy, handmade feel I love.

Just a Little Note Card

This card is packed with charming details. A jar filled with florals sits alongside a layered tag and pencil ephemera, giving it a fun, crafty vibe. Paper clip Foam Stickers, twine, and the cute post-it note type pattern paper add texture and make this card perfect for a quick note to a friend.

Today Is the Day Card

For this card, I kept the focus on the bold sentiment found on one of the 3x4 Element cut aparts and layered a similar die cut on top with some foam tape. Cute dotted and floral papers add a fun, playful touch to this card. The butterfly accents and button details add dimension, while the banner along the bottom gives the card a playful finish.

Each of these cards showcases just how versatile and inspiring the Take Note collection truly is. The mix of vintage office elements, florals, and encouraging sentiments makes it so easy to create cards for just about any occasion.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope these cards inspired you to grab some of the Take Note collection from Simple Stories and create a few handmade cards for the special people in your life. Happy crafting!
