Swimsuit & Popsicles

Swimsuit & Popsicles

Hello friends! Emilie here with a brand-new layout created using the super bright and fun RETRO SUMMER collection. When I first saw this collection, my inspiration came flowing. Lots of bright colours, ice cream and swimming pool images. I love it!

With such a fun collection, I wanted to play on the ice-cream iconography. I built on the TWO SCOOPS patterned paper and added layers of “melting ice-cream” underneath the one that was already printed.

With several layers of papers already in place creating a lot of volume as well as lots of bright colours and patterns I knew I wanted to keep the rest of the layout fairly light and simple.

I added my matted photograph on the top left corner of my layout with sticky foam pads. I then added a cluster of BITS AND PIECES around it to help the eyes focus on the photograph.

I wanted to add to the sprinkles of the pattern paper by using the ENAMEL DOTS and STICKY BRADS around my photo and clusters.

Now it was time to add my title. I used the FOAM STICKERS to create my title which is always one of my go-to elements of any collection.

I finished off my title with some BITS AND PIECES ephemeras, STICKY BRADS as well as a “&” from the COLOR VIBES alphas.

I had so much fun with this project! This collection is incredibly colourful and so easy to create with!
Make sure you get your hand on the RETRO SUMMER collection at your local scrapbooking store to document your sunny memories.

Emilie would sciss work as I am not good with my cra knife. Was only the bottom of the dripping ice cream Cut then add the two pattern pieces each a LITTLE bigger?

Hi Darlene, first, I did cut around the ice cream pattern using my craft knife, then i traced around it on another patterned paper as well as on a piece of Color vibe cradstock. I then cut around these with my craft knife and layered it all with double sided sticky foam pads. I hope this helps! Emilie xxx
