There’s just something about bright colors, sweet florals, and sunshine-filled icons that instantly puts a smile on my face, and the Sweet Summertime collection is overflowing with all of those happy details! I had so much fun creating this assortment of cards and tags, and every project feels like a little pop of summer sunshine. From picnics and beach days to flowers, birds, and sweet treats, this collection made creating an absolute joy.
For these projects, I reached for the 6x8 paper pad and mixed in coordinating Color Vibe cardstock to create bright layers and pops of color throughout. I also had so much fun incorporating all of the adorable embellishments from the collection, including the ephemera pieces, decorative brads, stickers, and sparkling enamel dots. These little details added just the right amount of dimension and whimsy, making each card and tag feel like a tiny celebration of summertime.
The first trio of cards captures some of my favorite summertime moments. One card features a relaxing beach scene complete with an oversized umbrella, beach chairs, and playful waves, while another showcases sweet florals and a cheerful little bird perched above a pretty tag. The third card celebrates picnic season with strawberries, flowers, sunshine, and adorable ladybugs. Layering ephemera, enamel dots, twine, and dimensional accents brought each of these bright and happy scenes to life.
The second set of cards is bursting with color and playful details. One card combines envelopes, journaling cards, and a tiny wheelbarrow overflowing with flowers alongside the sentiment, “Let’s Get Outside.” Another celebrates “The Good Life” with layered florals, cheerful colors, and a sweet little bird accent. And for a touch of summertime sweetness, I created a fun card featuring popsicles, watermelon, cherries, and a frosty pink drink paired with the sentiment “Simple Pleasures.” These cards are full of sunshine and everyday joy!
I also created three coordinating tags that are perfect for gifts, treat bags, or adding to scrapbook pages. Each tag features lots of layers, black-and-white ribbon, and charming summer icons. One showcases a sleepy snail and butterfly, another highlights sunny beach fun with a sandcastle and seagull, and the final tag features a bicycle and florals paired with a cheerful “Hello” greeting. These little tags were every bit as fun to make as the cards themselves and are such a great way to use up those favorite bits and pieces from the collection.
