Today I’m sharing a bright and happy summer layout, using the wonderful PINK LEMONADE collection, that totally gives me vacation vibes and makes me want a big glass of lemonade and some sunshine on my face.
For this page, I played with lots of fresh colors and fruity elements to capture that fun, carefree feeling we all love about summer days. To start, I cut four strips from two patterned papers, Sunny Side Up and Main Squeeze, distressed the edges, and then matted them with the patterned paper Love This Life. I distressed the edges again for extra texture and adhered them onto a white background. To give everything a playful, handmade look, I drew scribbly borders around the long strips using a black pen.
Next, I matted my photo with the Fresh Picked paper, distressed the edges, and placed it on the layout, letting it sit nicely on top of the layered strips.
Then came the fun part—I grabbed the 4x6 Elements paper and cut out a few lemons, along with the large lemon from the Main Squeeze paper and another version from the 6x8 paper pad. From the ephemera packs, I picked two lemon clusters from the Bits & Pieces and Floral Bits & Pieces, as well as two black-and-white lemons from the chipboard and Bits & Pieces packs. I arranged all of these across the four strips, making sure to cover the red flowers on the Sunny Side Up paper so everything stayed cohesive. Some pieces were glued down flat, while others were popped up with foam tape to add dimension and make the design more dynamic.
For my title, I used two foam word stickers, and then I finished decorating with a few extra cute elements like a lemonade bottle, a butterfly, some hearts, and little flowers. To wrap it all up, I added some brads and enamel dots for those final pops of color and texture.
I absolutely love how fresh and summery this layout turned out, and it’s such a fun way to document those sunny vacation memories—now I’m curious, are you more of a beach person or a poolside relaxer?
