Summertime! by Andrea Lake

Andrea with you today sharing my new layout using the new SUNKISSED collection by Simple Stories. I am in love with the vibrant colors and fun elements that make this, the perfect collection to document your summer adventures. I don’t remember when was the last time we went to the beach, it might have been at least 5 years ago. So I decided to take a trip back in time and make a page to remember the time we used to live in paradise, just 5 minutes away from the beautiful beach in Muscat, Oman.

I used two different patterned papers for my background. The wavy light blue patterned paper made me think of the sea (I added some glossy accents to get a nice water effect on those waves) and the bright yellow paper reminded me of the inclement sun in Muscat. I backed my photo using yellow and pink patterned papers and a piece of blue Simple Stories textured cardstock. I added some adhesive foam to the back of the photo and then adhere it to the background. I decorated the left corner of my photo with some clouds (you can find different size clouds in the die cuts packs and sticker packs), I used a decorative brad to add texture to the sun and added a tab sticker to the right of my clouds.

I used BIG, bold, and colorful stickers for my title. The word relax comes from the foam sticker pack and the word Sunshine can be found on the 12x12” Sticker sheet that comes with the patterned papers and it is overlapping the first word. This is a way to add interest and dimension to my page. I created a couple of different clusters, one can be found on the top right of the title (I fussy cut a piece of patterned paper that looks like a notepad and incorporated a few phrases from the sticker sheet) and I used a 3x4” card that I fussy cut from the same sheet to add my journaling. I also fussy cut some flowers and used foam stickers and chipboard stickers to keep adding more and more flowers to this page.
