Hi crafty friend! It's Rebeca Ruiz (@SimplyRebecaRuiz) sharing an interactive layout I created with the gorgeous Sweet Summertime collection by Simple Stories. This beautiful and bright collection is perfect to document all your summer memories. I love its versatility, with designs that include flowers, butterflies, fruits, and more. For this layout, I selected some of the beachy products to document the photos of my daughter playing with the sand. Let's take a closer look at the layout!

For the base, I used the patterned paper with the sun and clouds and covered the trees in the bottom area with the polka-dot paper. Then, I added two strips of paper to separate the cream and mint colors. The colored strip captures the viewer's attention and balances the layout. When my daughter was playing with the sand, I took lots of photos to preserve those happy memories, but then I couldn't decide which one to scrapbook. This is why I created an interactive layout to hold additional photos.

For the flap, I cut an 8" x 6" piece of paper, scored at 1/2" and glued it to the base layout. Then, I used another piece of paper that measures 8" x 5 7/16" and glued it on top of the hinge. There, I added four additional photos, all of the same size. In the middle, I used a die-cut to embellish them.

The title was created with a foam sticker, a die-cut label, and a sticker phrase. On the sides, I used other die-cuts to embellish it and balance the page.

On top of the flap, I used flowers to embellish the photo and create a cluster. Above the flap, I added two more clouds and a bird to continue with the beachy theme.

Since I used the paper with the 4x6 and 4x4 cards for the flap, I took advantage and used them as decoration. On the right side, I created a pocket using a piece of red paper and inserted a tag and a clipboard for journaling.

To anchor the umbrella die-cut, I added a piece of pink paper. Then, I cut a part of the green barcode strip to make it look like washi tape holding the pink strip. After that, I added the bucket with the shovel and the sand dollar. I finished the layout with some decorative brads and enamel dots in the clusters area. They are a small detail that always enhances the project, adds texture and dimension. You can watch the process reel for this layout on the Simple Stories Instagram account (@SimpleStories_).
