Sunny Days!
Hey there, crafty friends! It is Ali from @funadventureswithali, and I’m absolutely basking in these bright, sunny vibes from the latest collection!
As soon as I saw these cheerful colors and playful patterns, I knew I had to create a sun-themed layout. And what better photo to use than one from my trip to Palm Springs—where the sun shines almost every day of the year (seriously, 353 days!).
I started by cutting a blue circle from the Simple Stories cardstock kit—just a half-inch bigger than my sun design—to give it a bold backdrop. I layered the yellow sun paper on top and added hand-stitched detail around the edges for a cozy, textured touch. To give it that pop, I used foam tape underneath. Love the dimension!
For the sun’s rays, I used a triangle metal die cut and dove into the 6x8 paper pad to create twenty-five unique rays. Since the sun was popped with foam tape, it was easy to tuck those rays’ underneath. I curled the tips for some playful movement and sprinkled them glossy enamel dots for that perfect sunbeam sparkle.
Next up: the clouds! I fussy cut those cuties from the 12x12 paper, popped them up around my matted photo, and gave them a little personality with glitter enamel dot accents.
I finished off the layout by lifting the journaling stickers with foam strips and giving those adorable sunglasses a bit of extra flair. For the title, “Sunny Days,” I used a foam sticker and added glossy enamel dots for extra shine. It seriously glows—just like the real thing!
Here is to chasing sunshine and capturing every radiant moment!
Keep Shining!
