Spooky Squad!

Spooky Squad!

Hello there crafty friends!

It's Nathalie with you today to bring you a bit of inspiration right on time for the Halloween season.   I love the combination of spooky and sweet in the new Spooky Things collection, they are perfect to document your spooky stories.  I had to go into my archives (adult kids now) to find a photo of my kids on one of their Halloween eras for this layout

I wanted to bring as many of the cute patterns into this layout - the color palette of this collection is fresh and classic in one- as it fit the feel and colors of my photo.  SO, I played with a few ideas until I decided on working with circles and a twist!

I cut all my circles from the 6x8 paper and patterned papers to measure 3.25 inches.  Once I had them all ready, I played with patterns so that there were two circles ready for each of my positions on the layout, then I cut one of the circles on an angle.  I used these pieces to help me cut the second circle; however, I added an extra 3/8" to the second cut, so that when they layered on the page, they have the semblance of a complete circle.

I set the pieces of the layered circles with foam adhesive on my page then trimmed the paper to an 11" square and framed it with the 4x6 Elements paper.   I added a few patterned papers behind the photo to make sure it stood out in the layout and set it in the center of the page.  I added a few embellishments to the top right corner of the photo.

I love the foam adhesives as they always provide the right sentiments to help me create a title.  I set it to the bottom left of the photo and added a few extra embellishments -that matched the cluster at the other corner of the photo.

The small bat icons were the perfect complement to the page as they help to guide your eye through the page and the perfect placement for extra sentiment phrases.  A few enamel dots around the outside circumference of the circles completes my page

I love how this turned out, and I hope that it inspires you to get your Halloween memories documented with the beautiful SPOOKY THINGS collection,

XO!
