Something Wicked This Way Comes

Something Wicked This Way Comes

Hello, Nicole here today to share a double page layout featuring Frightful Fun and some school Trunk or Treat Photos.

Based on the total number of photos I selected, I decided to go with a double-page design. I found a sketch with some fun elements, and more importantly, it featured both horizontal and vertical photo orientations, which makes choosing photos so much easier for my process.

Pattern paper will always be my favorite product, so I wanted to make sure I used some of my favorite patterns from Frightful Fun. While I love the watercolor-style florals, I used them sparingly since they didn’t quite match the feel of the event. The bolder patterns, on the other hand, were a much better fit for the theme!

I used black embroidery thread to add hand stitching around the grid on the left page and along the edge of the green text paper. I then carried that detail over to the right page by stitching along the black floral pattern. I love the extra texture and interest that hand stitching brings to a project.

My title comes from the Foam Stickers, and I adhered it directly over the photos, making sure to position it over areas that weren’t important to the photos themselves. I added some layering pieces from the Bits & Pieces embellishment pack, pulled in a pop of purple with a subtitle from the 12x12 Stickers, and finished off the various clusters with adhesive brads, chipboard candy corn, and tiny foam hearts. Those little details are always a fun way to bring everything together!

If you want to see how I put this layout together, I have a process video available over on my channel on YouTube
