Karlla here and I'm so happy to share another project with you. This one in particular is to remember our beautiful dog Luca.
She left us in February. With a heavy heart, we will always remember her with much love.
I wanted to create a fun project with the "Fur Baby Dog" collection and I think I achieved the heights that I love so much for this layout.
I wanted a background that would help highlight the 3D fan effect I created on the bottom of the layout. For this, I chose "Do Days" paper. Since it is double-sided, you will need two sheets of paper to create this background. As a finishing touch, I like to create a sewing effect on the machine. But you can use a pen and trace around it several times freehand. I love the final effect.
For the fan, I chose ten paper prints from the collection. You can use the papers from the "6x8 Pad". The prints are reduced and look great. I made a long triangle template on a simple cardstock and used it to cut the prints I chose. I joined two prints for each triangle, totaling 5 triangles in the end. For this join, I glued only in the center. Machine stitching is optional. After it dried, I folded only the top triangle, creating this 3D effect.
Once they were ready, I added them over the background combination that was already made.
For the photos, I used two tags from "Elements 1" paper and positioned them with two different heights of foam tape on the left side of the layout.
Decorative Brads and Enamel dots are my favorite finishes for tags.
"Simple Pages Page Pieces" was my choice for the title. The central heart gave a beautiful finish to the fan and since I wanted a horizontal outline for the top part, it turned out just as I had imagined.
My favorite part of the creation process is finishing. I love creating this mix of Decorative Brads, enamel dots, stickers... I left the top part for these details, also including the photos and the title.
I loved being able to create this layout in honor of our little Luca. We will always remember her with much love.
It was 15 years of great joy and I'm sure she is having fun wherever she is. We love you Luca!!!
