Saddle Up! by Andrea Lake

Saddle Up! by Andrea Lake

Andrea with you today sharing my new layout using the new HOWDY collection by Simple Stories. Oh my! What a fun collection to work with. I created a mini album to keep photos of one of our staff parties held at my hotel in Muscat, Oman. The theme? The Wild Wild West, of course!

I knew I wanted to create a tag mini album and add as many elements of the collection as possible. I also wanted to make sure my album would “stand” on its own. For this, I created a chipboard album cover with a wide pocket on the right side to hold the mini album and used a light brown satin ribbon to keep it closed and secured. I decorated the front cover of this album holder with a big foam title and a fussy 4x6” card from one of the patterned papers, as well as three tiny puffy stickers and an adhesive brad. I added one more adhesive brad on the side of this cover.

This mini album holds pictures of an amazing Wild West staff party we celebrated in 2015. I painted the arch to welcome all of our colleagues to the main event and had a wonderful time. These pages are decorated using absolutely all of the elements from the Howdy collection. The papers, stickers, die cuts, and brads. They add so much texture and dimension to the pages.

I love how this mini album turned out!! I hope it inspires you to grab the new Howdy collection and have fun creating with it.
