Hello, Nicole here today to share a single page layout featuring the new Happy Travels collection.
Traveling is something that I personally don’t have a lot of experience with so when I looked through the Happy Travels collection, I knew that I wanted to find a design that would allow for using a LOT of embellishments. One of my favorite tools is scrapbook sketches. Normally I try to use free sketches so I can share them, but today I selected a paid content sketch from a recent class - I love supporting online scrappy events.
I edited and cropped my photos to fit in a collage with the journaling space to the side, where the entire photo and journaling area would take up a square. The pink notebook paper from the Happy Travels collection was perfect to print my journaling directly onto.
From there I pulled any and all car or road trip elements from the embellishment packs, stickers and foam stickers. I don’t travel often so I really wanted to go ahead and just play with lots of products and the sketch I chose was perfect to create a frame built from embellishments.
I like to start with larger pieces first like the title, car, taxi, bike etc. and then fill in with different pieces based on size and color, so I have a good mix going all the way around the layout. I like to come in with small details to further fill in the frame scene and the tiny hearts from the 6x12 chipboard and the adhesive brads were perfect finishing touches.
If you want to see how I put this page together I have a process video over on my channel showing how I created this layout.
