Hello dear Simple Stories friends, Happy New Year to all!!! It’s wonderful to be here for another year, I couldn’t be more excited for what to come! Today I want to share a 12x12” super fun and energetic layout using the “Happy New Year” Simple Set Collection.
For this layout I wanted a fun design and layers upon layers upon layers! For my background I chose the “midnight kisses” party popper patterned paper and started creating my layers on top of it.
I used three 4x4” photos and placed them on a horizontal strip. I cut 2 border strips form the multi color striped patterned paper at 1/2” and placed them on the top and on the bottom of my photo strip. I then cut a piece of 3”x12” tone on tone star patterned paper to place below my photos.
To finish my background layers, I used the polka dot border sticker and placed it on top of my multi color striped patterned paper and added two thin 1/4”strips of polka dot patterned paper to top and bottom of my layout, adding some black machine stitching to secure them.
I then started with the fun part, creating my countdown cluster with the beautiful numbers from the sticker sheet. The numbers in the sticker sheet are so super fun! I adhered them on top of the bottom border of the teal star patterned paper popping some of them on foam adhesive and leaving others adhered flat to create that fun layered look. I also added some star and party popper stickers to my countdown cluster.
At the top left, I created my title cluster using the “Celebrate” word sticker as my main title and a thin “Ring in the New Year” word sticker as my subtitle. I accented my cluster with a bunch of confetti stickers adhered with foam to create different highs and dimension.
For my third embellishment cluster and journaling spot I used a 3x4 resolutions journaling card from the Elements patterned paper. I cut my card to use it at the top and the bottom, giving the illusion of it being longer than it really is.
I added a balloon sticker on top of the resolutions card and added a “Cheers” yellow speech bubble as well. I typed my text on the journaling spot on the bottom of my photos and added some word sticker to it.
Finally, I finished this fun, eclectic and energetic layout with some Color Vibe star chipboard pieces tucked in my 3 embellishment clusters. I also added some sticker word strips and called it done!
