Hey Simple Stories fans! It’s Cheryl here today showing you my first cards featured in a blog post!
Remember is a beautiful neutral collection that features lots of gorgeous florals and muted colours. It is a collection to remember loved ones and in such a busy world we’re living in, small acts of kindness like sending a handmade card and letting our friends & family know we’re thinking of them can have an impact.
I made six A2 sized cards. I started going through the papers first, to see which ones I wanted to use. I also used Color Vibe cardstock in warm white on four of the cards. I love layering white cardstock on top of a dark or busy patterns, so you still get to see the beautiful pattern, but you also have a bit of a blank canvas for decorating with pretty stickers and die cuts. I have added machine stitching with an iridescent thread on all of the cards and some embellishments - simply because I like the look of it. It is totally optional, but I have always enjoyed adding different textures to paper crafting projects.
I am using a variety of embellishments including foam stickers, chipboard stickers, die cuts and chipboard frames. The collection also features a pack of big die cuts, which are great to decorate larger pieces. Adhesive foam also helps to add more dimension to the cards without making them too bulky to send in mail.
Creating these cards wasn’t just about creativity—it was about spreading compassion and reminding us of the power of human connection, even in our darkest moments.
