Simple Stories always knocks it out of the park with their Christmas collections. Holly Days is full of whimsy and fun colors, perfect for capturing the memories of this upcoming season or seasons past! Christine joining you today with a layout of my family from last Christmas!
Every year I create at least. one layout with some kind of a unique tree in the background. Sometimes I even do more than one! It's just become a thing for me in my annual scrappy traditions. As I look at Christmas collections, I'm looking for something to jump out and inspire me in this! Holly Days had the perfect paper, this plaid with reds, blues, and pinks.
I cut the strips into individual ones, making each one a little shorter. I laid them out to build a colorful and unique tree. One thing I like about this one is that even if 100 people replicate this layout, they will still get a different result because of the plaid and how you lay them out!
With different paper this could have a much calmer look, allowing you to build lots of detail into your layout. But this is busy, so I definitely want to keep things simple. Often when I create a layout with a unique background, I go with a single showcase photo. I don't do tons of layouts with just one photo, but when I do I like it to be something like this that really showcases a special moment and doesn't need the support of extra photos.
I chose three spots to build clusters into the layout, with the first one including the title as well. The title is a Cardstock Sticker.
For each cluster I used pieces from the 6 X 8 Sticker Book, Journaling Bits & Pieces, Bits & Pieces, and Foam Stickers. If you look closely at all three, you can pick out how I added a similar element to each one.
I finished things off with Enamel Dots! My favorite part of this layout is the unique colors scheme! You can check out how I created it over on my YouTube Channel!
Thanks so much for stopping by today, have a wonderful holiday weekend!
