Now Showing!
Hi Friends!

It's Rebecca (@preciouspagespapercraft) with you on the blog today, sharing my latest creation. I was so excited to see some film and movie related icons in the Say Cheese Tinseltown collection and I knew I had the perfect photos for it!

We took a recent trip to the movies to see the latest Disney film. We went on release day and so I anticipated the cinema being really busy... but no... we were the only people there and had the whole theatre to ourselves!! Because my photos were movie themed, I looked through the full collection and pulled out all the movie/film related icons and elements before doing anything!

I started with the 'Lights, Camera, Action' patterned paper with all the filmstrips. I LOVE this paper... but it's a little busy for me to use as a whole sheet. If you've seen any of my other layouts, you'll know I ADORE white space on my layouts so I put my thinking cap on! It didn't take long for a plan to formulate in my head!

I cut the paper into individual filmstrips, and then cut them down to varying lengths. I decided it was looking too 'blocky' so decided to cut the centre parts out of the top and bottom section of each strip. I then arranged them onto a sheet of white cardstock - longest in the centre and getting shorter as they moved towards the edge of the page.

With the filmstrips in place, I added my photos over to the right-hand side, matted onto white card and then a red patterned paper from the collection. As always, there's a layer of foam behind my photos to build some dimension.

I wanted to get my title on the page early on, as I have a habit of forgetting to leave a space for it! I reached for one of my favourite Simple Stories products - the Foam Stickers! I positioned my title, and a directors board to the left of my photos.

I also placed a foam sticker in the bottom right corner to start a small cluster. I love the 'now showing' sentiment, and it worked perfectly for this layout.

With the larger elements in place, I turned my attention to embellishing with smaller items. I've used icons from the Bits and Pieces and also the Cardstock Stickers. A lot of these elements I have raised up on foam pads and tucked them around my photos.

Next, I added some even smaller bits! I always work in this way - start with the biggest elements and work my way down to the smallest. I've used a lot of the yellow stars from the collection and also some of the stunning Glossy Enamel Dots.

I felt like the cluster in the bottom right corner was looking like a random after-thought so needed to do something to tie it in with the rest of the layout. I cut into the bottom of the layout and turned the corners back. (I then had to rearrange the foam sticker in this cluster... man they are super sticky!!) I backed the open space with the red reverse of the 'Lights, Camera, Action' paper. I then repeated this step in the top left corner and I felt much happier.

And that's me finished!

Thank you so much for reading. I've had so much fun creating this layout. I can't wait to see what everybody else creates with this fun collection.

Take care

Rebecca xx
