I started with a piece of pink patterned paper with a tone-on-tone damask print. I’m a huge fan of tone-on-tone patterns. I used them all the time, especially on the backgrounds of my layouts.
The Floral Bits & Pieces in this collection are absolutely gorgeous! Before I started working on anything else, I chose a few flower and butterfly die cuts to use on the layout. I chose two 3” x 3” photos of my husband and me to tell the story of our dates.
To make the photos stand out, I layered a few patterned papers behind the photos and to create an embellishment cluster on the right. One of my favorite techniques is adding machine stitching. I especially love the look of stitching on Simple Vintage projects. It gives the layout another layer of vintage flair.
Foam stickers are my “go to” product for titles. I especially loved the “forever & always” foam stickers for the title of this layout. I nestled the foam stickers together below the photos and embellishments. After I had the title in place, I added my journaling strips below the title. At this point, I wanted to add a little bit to the top and bottom edges of the layout. When it feels like something is missing from one of my projects, I often reach for patterned paper. I tore a few bits from the Simple Vintage Love Story 6x8 paper pad. I layered and stitched the patterned papers at the top left and bottom right sides of the layout.
I love how this layout came together. It was so fun and really easy to create with Simple Stories products! Thank you for stopping by the Simple Stories blog today. The Simple Stories family wishes you and your loved ones a Happy New Year!!
