Hello crafty friends!
It’s Cheryl here and today I’m sharing a sweet and spooky mini album using the Spooky Things collection – a pastel-perfect twist on Halloween that’s just too cute to spook!
As soon as I saw the ghost icons in this collection, I was totally inspired by their soft, wavy shapes. I used that same idea to guide the shape of my album pages, adding playful, scalloped bottoms to mirror the ghost silhouettes. It gives the whole album such a whimsical, floaty vibe!
This time, I went with a white wire-bound format, which adds a fresh, clean look that pairs perfectly with the soft pastel tones of the collection. For the page bases, I used Color Vibe card in Blush, Lilac, and Orange – they match the collection beautifully and provide a lovely soft background for layering. Then, I topped them with patterned papers from Spooky Things.
One of my favourite parts of this album is the custom charm and chain I added to the wire binding. I used white beads from my stash and even made my own charms using the adhesive brads from the collection! I simply took two brads, glued them back-to-back, and added a bit of wire in between. It’s such a cute, easy way to make coordinating embellishments – and it adds the perfect little jingle to the spine of the album. I also stepped out of my comfort zone by using dark purple machine stitching to all the pages. Totally optional, but I just love how it looks!
Each page is layered and decorated with Bits & Pieces, foam stickers, and all the pastel Halloween goodness the collection has to offer. I kept everything soft and playful and of course featured my cat who’s always spooked by everything! This project was such a joy to make! I love how Spooky Things gives Halloween a fresh and modern vibe. If you’re a fan of soft colour palettes and magical little details, you’ll fall in love with this collection too.
