Hi, Lisa here, and today I’m sharing the most adorable little project — perfect as a sweet handmade gift for new parents. If you’re ever in need of a thoughtful and super cute present for a baby shower or a welcome baby moment, I’ve got you covered! I created two teeny tiny mini albums using the charming Say Cheese Classic Pooh Baby collection — one in pink tones and one in blue. Let’s take a closer look!
To create the covers of these tiny books, I used chipboard that I covered with patterned papers from the 12x12 Simple Basics Kit. I went with Bubblegum Pink for the girl version and Mint Blue for the boy version.
Each album is 2x2 inches for the front and back cover, with a 1x2 inch spine. For the inside pages, I cut out six 2x4 inch rectangles from various patterned papers, folded them in half, and added some cute 2x2 squares from the Tag Elements paper on top for decoration.
For the binding, I used embroidery thread in matching colors. I wrapped the thread around the spine six times, inserting one folded page each time. Once all the pages were in, I crossed the thread over the spine and tied a knot on the inside to secure everything in place.
To make the spine extra cute and functional, I added stickers directly over the thread. This not only added a decorative touch, but also helped hold the binding in place.
Then came the fun part — embellishing!
I went through the adorable stickers, ephemera, and die cuts to decorate the front covers, back covers, and a few of the inside pages.
I added a few floral die cuts peeking out from between the pages. When the albums are closed, they give the illusion of a tiny 3D floral bouquet — so cute and whimsical!
These mini albums are super quick and easy to make, and I guarantee they’ll be a total hit at any baby shower!
They’re small, sweet, and just the right size for new parents to add a few special baby photos or memories.
