Round and Round We Go!
Hi friends! It’s Ali from @funadventureswithali, and today I’m excited to share a bright and playful layout using the Fun Times collection from Simple Stories.
I absolutely love the bold colors and cheerful patterns in this collection—it’s perfect for documenting all those summer adventures like state fairs, carnivals, and amusement parks. If you’ve got photos from any of those outings, this is the collection you’ll want to grab!
For this layout, I started with two large circles as my base. To add some texture and handmade charm, I hand-stitched one of the circles, and used foam tape behind the larger one to make it pop off the page.
The layout features fun photos of me riding the merry-go-round during a craft event trip to Washington. I had such a blast—and of course, I picked the prettiest horse to ride!
To play off the merry-go-round theme, I punched several different-sized circles from the 6x8 patterned paper pad and layered them around the large circles. I used more foam tape to give them dimension and movement, which felt perfect for the ride I was documenting.
I couldn’t resist adding the carousel horse and merry-go-round stickers—they matched my photos so perfectly and helped tie the whole theme together. Then, I sprinkled in some brads, enamel dots, and star stickers for extra sparkle and fun.
To finish it off, I added my favorite foam stickers for the title and a few journaling strips to capture the memory of the ride.
