Hi, friends! Andrea here, and today I’m excited to share a bright and festive 12x12 layout I created using the adorable Hard Candy Christmas collection by Simple Stories. This photo brings back such happy memories—it was taken during our Scrap & Learn Weekend, where we spent two magical days teaching and creating tons of holiday projects together. I was feeling extra joyful and festive, so of course I had to document that moment with a selfie and a layout full of color and cheer!
To build my page, I started by layering different patterned papers from the collection to create a bold, candy-striped frame around the entire layout. One of my favorite details is the large swirl design behind my photo. I fussy cut it from one of the patterned papers and tucked it into the background to create a fun, whimsical burst of color that instantly draws your eye to the center of the page. The combination of pinks, greens, reds, and yellows adds so much playful energy—perfect for holiday crafting memories!
Once the foundation was complete, I added lots of dimension with embellishments from across the collection. You’ll see a mix of chipboard pieces, cardstock stickers, Bits & Pieces, Big Bits, Journal Bits, decorative brads, and even a few extra elements I fussy cut from the patterned papers. I loved layering Santa, Christmas trees, snow globes, and other sweet little icons around my journaling to create a joyful holiday scene. The “Merry Christmas” title adds the perfect finishing touch with its colorful letters and adorable scalloped detail.
