Merry & Bright Baking Memories by Becki Adams
Hello Simple Stories friends, it’s Becki here, to share a layout with you that I created using the Baking Spirits Bright collection. When this collection landed on my doorstep, I was SO excited!! I immediately knew what story I wanted to tell with these products. This collection is absolutely darling!! It’s full of the most adorable patterned papers and embellishments.
I started off with the red plaid patterned paper as my background. I wanted to layer and stitch a few patterned papers on top of that. I couldn’t resist adding teal, pink and green strips of patterned paper with stitching around the edges of each paper.
One of my favorite Simple Stories products is the page pieces. They have the BEST titles! That is where I found the title for this layout. I love the large scale of this title as well as the combination of fonts.
There are three areas of embellishments on this layout. Two of them are next to the title. The other one is above the photo. I love the shelf with baking ingredients, bowls and a scale. It’s so cute!! I couldn't help but tuck a couple of gingerbread people in behind the shelf.
The embellishment clusters around the title are filled with gingerbread cookies and Christmas trees. I added a lot of dimensional adhesive for a couple of reasons. One, it makes it easier to layer embellishments together. Two, it creates a bit of shadowing that I absolutely love!
To the right of the photos, I added my journaling. The story that I documented on this layout is one that I love and will be such a happy memory for me and my daughter.
Not only was this layout SO much fun to create, the Baking Spirits Bright collection is PERFECT for the story that I wanted to tell.
