Hey friends! Brianna Lepper here today sharing a new layout using the gorgeous Trail Mix collection. There are so many different outdoor elements included in this collection! While I don't have a lot of camping photos, it was still perfect for all of our outdoor adventure photos. The photo I chose is of my two sons at the Polynesian Cultural Center out on Oahu. I love how my page turned out and I hope you do too!
I was immediately inspired by the wood grain pattern on the Campfire Stories 12x12 paper and immediately knew that it was going to be the main background for my layout. I chose a textured white cardstock as my base and then trimmed down the 2x2/4x4 Elements paper and layered it right on top. I then adhered the wood grain on top of that after I trimmed it down to a 9x9 size. I distressed the edges of each layer and added some white acrylic paint spray and gold spray to the wood grain. I love doing this to darker papers. It really makes it pop and look at those fun layers!
Next, I took the Journal Bits pack and pulled out a few pieces that would go into an embellishment cluster at the top right of my page and also be layered under my photo. Here's the cluster that I built. I love how it turned out.
For my title, I chose a phrase from the Foam Sticker sheet and adhered it down. I went back and forth with placement but it ended up fitting nicely right next to one of my embellishment clusters. This is such a fun and colorful title! For some extra color, I added a few phrase stickers from the Cardstock Sticker sheet right under it.
Next, I layered a few pieces from the Journal Bits pack under my photo and then started working on my other embellishment clusters. I pulled in a few of the Bits + Pieces and popped a few up on some foam tape. I love layering and tucking all of the pieces together. It's honestly my favorite part of creating a page.
I added a few Chipboard Stickers around the page and to finish it off, I adhered some Enamel Dots and tucked in some pieces of tangled thread as well.
Here's one last look at this page. I'm really loving the dark wood grain on top of the plaid patterned paper. That dark background really makes my photo and embellishments pop!!
Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope that I've inspired you in some way! I love a solidwhite background as a base for my layouts, so having a dark one was a nice change! I hope that you'll give it a try if that's normally something you don't do. It's fun to change things up every once in a while! See you next time friends!
