Hello, Simple Stories friends!!!
I’m so excited to be here! My name is Jodi Sanford and I manage the marketing and education aspects here at Simple Stories! I’ve been in the scrapbooking industry for over 25 years- originally with my own brand and company and, for the past 3 years here, with Simple Stories!
My favorite core product is COLOR VIBE (and Page Templates are a very close runner up ;))! I almost always pick a very simple background for my layouts and texture is a must have for me on my projects and Color Vibe hits both criteria—I especially love the dotted side—not overwhelming in design, but still a touch of design element!
My favorite color for Color Vibe is probably White or Warm White…again basic with the chance to create on top!
So, with that, diving right into my project, I of course used Color Vibe as my base, but went with Black, considering my theme! And you can tell my length of time in the industry by my project ;)! More than half of my scrapbook pages are 8 1/2 x 11! I’ve done them all and I love them all—from mini albums to custom books and 12x12 layouts-- but my first love and go-to for creating is still 8 1/2 x 11 pages! I love the rectangular shape over a square and it suits my art and style best…plus, it makes for a quick + easy project 99% of the time!
I chose to use the Spooky Things Collection because we LOVE the fun of Halloween at our house! We love coming together as a family and building a whole theme each year! I love that even though our costumes from Despicable Me aren’t “spooky”, the collection works just to highlight the holiday!
The bright colors and cute little bits + pieces are always my favorite since I create on a smaller scale!
And I rarely miss the chance to add texture to my pages! Whether it’s dimension in my adhesives, ribbons, twine, brads, enamel dots or even border punches, I love to add it to every page—even better if the die cuts already have it made for me!
And last, lots of layers and overlapping for that final look!
