It’s Cheryl on the blog today, and I’m so excited to share my latest festive project featuring the Simple Vintage Believe collection. I made a sweet little 12–day mini advent countdown book filled with positive mental health quotes. It’s a simple, heartfelt gift idea for a loved one, and the perfect way to sprinkle encouragement into their holiday season!
This project is very easy to create and has such a charming handmade feel. Instead of using a pre-made base, I put together my own mini book using three patterned papers from the collection, each trimmed to 5.5 x 8 inches and folded in half. Once stacked, I stitched them right down the spine to form a sturdy little booklet. I absolutely adore how the vintage patterns give it a timeless, cozy look.
To keep the style cohesive, I also crafted twelve mini envelopes measuring 2.25 x 3.75 inches using the Simple Vintage Believe Basics papers. The colours pair beautifully with the album papers, creating the perfect little pockets for the daily quotes.
This mini advent book ends up measuring 5.5 x 4 inches, making it the sweetest size for happy mail, stocking stuffers, or simply gifting a little joy to someone who could use a positive boost. I kept the inside pages clean and charming, using just a few layered accents so the envelopes (and the messages inside) remain the real stars of the project.
Each envelope holds a carefully chosen uplifting mental health quote or affirmation. As your loved one opens one each day, they’re greeted with a gentle reminder to breathe, reflect, and take care of themselves during the busy holiday season. It’s such a meaningful way to slow down and be present.
Embellishing this project was my favourite part! The Simple Vintage Believe stickers and embellishments add that perfect touch of warmth and nostalgia. A few stickers, labels, and stitched details go a long way in making each page feel festive and full of love. Creating this mini advent countdown book reminded me how powerful handmade kindness can be. I hope it inspires you to make your own version and share a little positivity with someone special this season.
