Hello Simple Stories friends! This is Gloria Parra here today to share a layout using a collection that has me totally in love! The Little Things collection is perfection in every possible way! The colors, the embellishments, the motifs, the phrases, everything friends, I just LOVE IT!!!
I started this layout with a white color vibe textured cardstock as my base. Since the patterned papers in this collection are all too gorgeous, I decided I wanted a way to display all of them on a layout. So, I went for a kind of patchwork background design to place in the middle of my layout.
From the 6x8 paper pad I cut a bunch of 3x3 squares and arranged them on my white cardstock, in a way that looked pleasing to my eye and trying to use the colors and patterns to balance my design. I then machine stitched all my little squares and distressed the borders a little. I love the texture and homemade feel that stitching and distressing adds to my layouts…
I adhered my squares leaving a thin white border on all sides, that way it looks cleaner and lets the reader appreciate every single pattern without being too busy.
I am a huge chipboard frame fan, so I decided to use the pink strawberry frame for this layout and placed my two photos of my little girl inside of it. A match made in heaven!!
I then created two embellishment clusters on two corners of my chipboard frame to lead the eye of the reader. On this clusters I placed flowers from the floral bits pack and some stickers from the collection kit. I love adding dimension in my clusters, so I used lots of foam adhesive to make my layout more interesting.
I then used a journaling spot that I cut from one of the elements patterned paper included in the collection kit. I typed out my journaling and placed it on top of my frame.
For my title I used a foam sticker that says “Lovely Day” and added a camera chipboard sticker to it.
