Love You & Me
Hello Simple Stories friends, it’s Becki here, to share a layout with you that I created using the Heart Eyes collection. Goodness, this is such a cute collection!! Whether you’re telling a story related to Valentine’s Day or just sharing about things you love in general. This collection is darling! It’s full of bright bold colors too…my personal favorite!
The first element that I chose to work with on this layout is the chipboard frame. I LOVE Simple Stories chipboard frames! I find myself reaching for them All.The.Time!! The “You & Me” chipboard frame is perfect for the story that I wanted to tell on this layout. I chose to print my photos in black and white. With so many vibrant colors, I didn’t want photos printed in color to get lost on the page. By printing them in black and white, they pop off the page.
I didn’t want my entire title to be “You & Me” so I decided to add the bold “LOVE” foam sticker in the opposite corner of the layout. This creates a bit of contrast and makes the page flow from the bottom right corner to the top left corner.
One of my favorite patterned papers in this collection is the bold stripe paper. I love all of the colors on one paper. It was a bit too bold to use as my background, but I still wanted that pop of color somewhere on my layout. I decided to add a strip of the paper at the bottom of my layout. I simply tore a 2” strip off of the bottom of the background paper and tucked the striped patterned paper behind the background and adhered it making sure that I still had a 12x12 layout.
I created three embellishment clusters on this page. They’re all surrounding the photo. One is on the left, one is on the right, and the other one is above the photos. After creating the embellishment cluster on the left, I adhered my journaling strips. I carefully trimmed them so they flowed around the embellishment cluster. I love it when I can nestle my journaling around the design of the page. It makes me smile Every.Single.Time!!
This layout was SO much fun to create!! I can’t wait to create a few more layouts before Valentine’s Day! I cannot wait to see what you’re creating with the Heart Eyes collection!! Happy crafting, my friends!!!

I love this BRIght and colorful layout. I love vibrant colors but I struggle with them competing with the photos. Thank you for the reminder to use b&w photos 💕
