Hello Simple Stories friends, Gloria Parra here today with a super fun and colorful layout using the awesome Simple Vintage Color Palette collection. Let me tell you, I was so excited and giddy working with this collection. I am a huge lover of bright colors, so this collection had me so excited to start creating!
I started my layout using as my base the orange plaid patterned paper from the collection kit. I then cut a black color vibe cardstock at 11 1/4 x 11 1/4 and added the cream with white polka dot paper as my top layer.
My idea for this layout was to have a bunch of tags on the left side coming from beneath my photos. When choosing the tags, I tried to choose one with layers and one solid; that way the layout doesn’t feel so busy!
To display my photos I decided to cut an orange color vibe cardstock at 4 1/4 x 12 and matted it on a black cardstock leaving a thin border on both sides. I then added three 3,5” square photos of myself in my happy place surrounded by all my crafty colorful things!
I then decided that I wanted my title placed on the yellow tag, where there’s some “white space” perfect to place my words! I also found a way to color block my long title using the red “Love This” word placed on top of the red tag. The yellow “Happy Life” foam sticker was placed on top of the yellow tag…I love how this looks, in some way color blocking makes a busy layout easier to look like and digest.
Then came my favorite part, looking for embellishments that will coordinate with my tags! I used floral ephemeras and chipboard stickers to create to create small clusters on my tags trying to keep balance in mind when placing the elements on my layout.
I then felt my photos were too bare and needed a little something to balance out with the left side of my layout. So, I used some word stickers on the corners of my photos to tie everything together.
Finally I added twine in the same color of each tag and some small foam hearts to sprinkled around to finish it up! I hope you guys like this design and I hope you give it a try! !
