Love My Herd! by Marsha Farris

Love My Herd! by Marsha Farris
Hey, Simple Stories friends! Marsha here, and I'm excited to share a flipbook album I created using the Homegrown collection. This is such a fun collection, just perfect for memories of time on the farm! I used it to document my cute little nephew's Barnyard Friends birthday party.

I chose to use a Navy 4x6 SN@P Flipbook because I thought it matched beautifully with the colors and patterns in this collection. To decorate the cover, I chose a patterned paper from the collection kit and trimmed it to the size of the album. Using a frame journal card as the base of the design, I added a sticker banner to the corner. Then, I used a variety of foam and cardstock stickers to include the title and further embellish the cover. The decorative brads and enamel dots were the ideal finishing touch for the cover design.

For the inside cover, I trimmed a cut apart element and used it to create a pocket to hold a tag from the Tag paper. I mixed and matched puffy stickers, cardstock stickers, and Color Vibe Alpha Stickers - Brights in green to embellish the page.

For the pages of the album, I used several patterned papers to create base pages. I love the look of a mix of patterned paper pages and pocket pages in my albums. Bits and pieces die cuts and cardstock stickers were the perfect accents for my photo. I kept it really simple so the photo would shine!

I couldn't resist using the large "moo" stickers from the foam stickers on the next page, along with decorative brads and a tag from the Tags paper.

I like using pocket pages because they are a great way to include some of the cut apart journal cards. I added foam stickers and cardstock stickers for a bit of simple embellishing. I also tucked another tag behind the photo as a place to include journaling or another photo.

I added more of the foam and chipboard stickers on the next pages and also included another journal card and tag. Next, I added washi tape to the edge of the page protector for a bit of extra interest. I just love the designs of the washi tape in this collection!

The next pages used more foam stickers. Do you see a trend here? These stickers are always a favorite and I wanted to include as many as possible on my pages! Next, I embellished a journal card with enamel dots and the cutest little chick from the puffy stickers. I like including lots of different types of embellishments on my pages. This provides layers, texture, and interest to the album.

This is such a fun album created using the new Homegrown collection. Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I will see you again soon with more inspiration!
