Hello Simple Stories friends, Becki here, to share a layout with you that I created with the brand new Hearth and Home collection. This collection is brand new, hot off the press! It just landed on my doorstep a couple of days ago. I knew that the first layout I wanted to make with this collection was about a special family recipe. To tell this story I used a single 4x6 photo and a very special piece of memorabilia, my grandma’s handwritten recipe.
I started on this layout, I fussy cutting some florals from the “Home At Last” patterned paper. I knew I wanted to use the flowers as embellishments on my layout. I used them to embellish the top left and bottom right corners of my layout. To emphasize the homemade feel of this layout, I added some machine stitching to connect the two corners together.
The title on this layout was easy and perfect! I simply used two foam stickers layered together for the title.
Because I wanted to make sure that my grandma’s handwritten recipe was preserved, I used a photo flip to make sure that it was protected. Under the flip, I added my journaling on a 4x4 cut apart card. To make the title stand out from the background and to cover the top of the flips, I added some patterned paper and washi under the foam stickers.
I am excited to have this special memory documented with such a beautiful collection. The Hearth & Hand collection is gorgeous! When you see it in person, I know you’ll be just as excited as was when I first saw it.
The Hearth & Hand collection is a MUST have!! I know you’ll be inspired to tell some of your most cherished stories with this collection. Happy scrapping, my friends!
