Hello Simple Stories friends, it’s Becki here to share a scrapbook page with you that I created with the new Simple Vintage Color Palette. It’s no secret that I love to include COLOR on all of my scrapbook pages!
Because I wanted to include a lot of color on this layout, I started with a white and cream background. This is the perfect background to add LOTS of color. I started with 1” strips of gingham patterned paper in a rainbow of colors. The photos that I chose for this layout are so cute! I want the attention of this layout to go directly to the photos. I designed the rest of the layout to enhance the photos.
I arranged the strips of patterned paper to draw your eye across the page, right to the photos. By adding the strips in rainbow order, that also adds a lot of color to the layout!
After adding the strips of patterned paper to the background, I also stitched along the outside edge of the strips with my sewing machine and black thread. It’s such a fun way to add contrast to the background and tie in the black title. With such a colorful background and embellishments, a black title stands out against the background.
Last but not least, I added embellishments in coordinating colors, meaning I added red flowers next to the red patterned paper, etc. This layout was so much fun to create and I love the final product! It’s so cute and tells the story that I wanted it too perfectly!
