Hello Simple Stories Friends!
Karlla Dauer here, and I'm so happy to share this project with you.
The "Happy Travels Collection", absolutely amazing. The combination of colors and elements are eye-catching.
I wanted something fun, so why not bring 3D into our projects?
To create the background of the layout, I wanted something with some special detail. When I saw the "Travel Buddies" paper, I imagined cutting out the bags and gluing them back on. Making the background 3D made me even more excited to create. These cutouts look incredible, and we can make good use of beautiful cutting paper.
I made a combination of papers for the background. "2x2 4x4 Elements, Good Times, Scenic Route, Journal Elements" were the papers I used to create the background and on them, I made the overlapping detail of the suitcases from the "Travel Buddies" paper.
I glued the cut-out suitcases together with foam tape.
You can sew them together to bring more detail to the layout.
I positioned the photo and the decorative elements in a vertical sketch, making the bottom of the suitcases more visible. "Happy Travels" has beautiful decorative elements. I chose to use the big "Fun" as the title right below the photo and you can find it at "Sentiment Bits & Pieces".
to finish the layout, I added small embellishments in black with a suitcase and camera cutout from "Bits & Pieces", small phrases from "Cardstock Stickers", brads and enamel dots.
It was so much fun creating this layout and being able to reminisce about our last trip, it was amazing. I hope it inspired you and I can't wait to see your projects.
With Love,
Karlla.
