Let's Play!

Hello Simple Stories friends!!

It's Sophie on the blog and today I want to share with you a fun 12x12 scrapbook page I created with a gorgeous color gradient effect using the Game Night collection.

For this layout, I started with a white 12x12 cardstock as my base. I gathered several sheets of the 6x8 paper pad in different bright colors that would work well together for a gradient effect. I cut each piece of patterned paper diagonally. This gave me beautiful triangular pieces that I could layer and arrange. I placed these triangles on the right side of my photo, arranging them from one color to the next to create a stunning gradient effect. I created a zig zag stitch with matching thread on each piece of paper. The diagonal cuts add such lovely movement to the page!

I chose to print my photo in black and white, sized at 2,5x4". The black and white really lets those vibrant colors in the gradient shine while keeping the focus on the memory itself.

I used foam stickers for my title and placed it on the left side of the photo to balance out the colorful gradient on the right.

Then came my favorite part - adding embellishments! I chose fun board game themed elements from the Bits & Pieces pack, the Chipboard Stickers and 12x12 sticker sheet to decorate the page, which tied perfectly into the story I wanted to tell.

I absolutely loved working with this collection! It’s so playful and colorful, and it celebrates a theme we don’t see often in scrapbooking - board games! I hope that you feel inspired by this and will be documenting your own game nights and playful moments!

Thank you, have a wonderful day!

Sophie xx
