Hello Simple Stories Friends. Karlla here and I'm so happy to share this project with you.
The Orlando theme parks have always been a special place for me and my family.
And whenever I need to create something with this theme, it becomes impossible to choose just a few photos. But during our last trip in particular, I got to meet "Kevin," the character from the movie "Up". I simply LOVE that movie.
For this project, I used the always beautiful "Say Cheese: Happiest Place" collection. It is incredible—and I can prove it!
For the base of the layout, I used the "So Much Happy" paper and selected the pink, aqua, and red colors from the "12x12 Simple Basics Kit." I cut two strips of each color, approximately 2 inches wide. Using scissors, I created fringe on all the strips. I layered the strips one on top of the other, creating a layered effect, and then adhered them to the back of two sides of the "Happy Memories" paper.
To finish the edges of this piece, I machine-stitched both sides. I applied it diagonally using foam tape onto the "So Much Happy" base paper.
I positioned the two photos on this base, created using foam tape at different heights. For the title, I used the lovely word "Happy," which you can find in the "Simple Pages Page Pieces" set. I added another sticker below the title from the "Cardstock Stickers Basics" collection.
I have to say: I absolutely loved these new stickers from Simple Stories!!!
At the top of the photo on the left, I added some "Floral Bits & Pieces" flowers and a "Journal Bits & Pieces" photo tag. I mounted all these embellishments on foam tape of varying heights to create depth. I also added the phrase "Put Your Ears On," also from the "Journal Bits & Pieces" collection.
To finish off the corner of the fringe, I created a floral arrangement and added our favorite little mouse from the "Chipboard Pieces" set. To wrap things up, right in the center of the project's flowers, I added some of my favorites: "Decorative Brads" and "Glitter Enamel Dots." And, of course, you can never have too many cute "Foam Sticker" stars for those extra little details!
