Hello friends, it’s Becki here to share a layout with you that I created using the NEW Open Road collection. One of my favorite parts of traveling is experiencing iconic places firsthand, and walking across the Brooklyn Bridge was definitely a highlight of our trip to New York City! The incredible views, the energy of the city, and the memories we made along the way were too special not to document. The Open Road collection was the perfect choice for telling the story of this adventure.
For this layout, I started with a neutral background paper featuring vintage-style typography. I love how it resembles an old map or travel journal page and creates the perfect foundation for a travel-themed layout. To add interest behind my photo, I layered a variety of patterned paper squares. The mix of florals, maps, directional arrows, and geometric prints reflects the excitement and movement of exploring a new place.
The large photo of my husband and me on the Brooklyn Bridge became the focal point of the page. I matted the photo with a map-patterned paper to reinforce the travel theme and then surrounded it with embellishments from the collection.
One of my favorite embellishment clusters is at the top of the page. The globe, sunshine, florals, and butterflies work together to create a fun travel-inspired vignette that draws your eye to the title. The "Let's Getaway" phrase was the perfect sentiment for this memory and captures the spirit of adventure that inspired the page.
At the bottom of the layout, I added a sweet little car die cut along with more florals, arrows, and decorative accents. These elements help tell the story of the journey while balancing the design visually. Small enamel dots and pieces of twine add texture and finishing touches throughout the page.
What I love most about the Open Road collection is how versatile it is. Whether you're documenting a cross-country road trip, a family vacation, a weekend getaway, or a memorable walk across an iconic bridge, the collection includes everything you need to tell your story beautifully.
