Hello, it’s Emma with you today.
Well, what a year it’s been for our kids! ... A school year to document, if ever there was!! So, what better way to record all that homeschooling, than by using the awesome new School life collection, by Simple Stories!
I chose to use the Red 6x8 Sn@p! Binder, the color works perfectly, don’t you agree?
I started decorating the cover by covering it with a sheet from the 12x12 collection kit, cut to size and glued on. A little tip for you, if you want to tidy up the edges you can use a nail file to sand them down. It just means the edges are less likely to lift.
I then used one of the chipboard frames and began to layer up the elements. Chipboard Pieces, brads and enamel dots.
I covered the inside in the same way as the front and then made a cute little pocket using one of the 4x6 elements and punching a notch using a circle punch. Pockets are a great way to store photos, tags, ect. Using a ribbon to wrap round the front cover is a nice way to add even more detail to your project.
I chose to make some dividers for my binder, for the tabs I cut lengths of rulers from the 12x12 School Rules sheet.
I decorated the dividers by adding a section of the stripe paper from the 6x8 paper pad, and then adding a 3x4 element and a few layered bits & pieces.
I talked about how useful pockets are in your binders, here’s a 4x4 one I made with two 4x4 cut a part elements which I glued three sides together, forming the pocket. This can then fit snuggly into a pocket page and be filled with tags, pictures ...what ever you fancy!
I love the new journal elements included in the 12x12 collection kit, here I’ve used one on a 6x8 sheet and simply decorated with some circle stickers which I lifted with foam sticky pads.
This 6x8 page has a flap, using a 3x4 element and a sticker tab to lift, this idea can be used to reveal extra photos or journaling.
I hope you enjoyed a peep inside my school life binder. See you next time!
