Hello, Simple Stories friends! It’s Jen today with a creepy, crawly Halloween project using the FaBOOlous Collection, which is absolutely adorable. Lately, I’ve been focusing on using older photos with my projects because I didn’t realize just how many special moments I’ve yet to document. Let’s take a look at what I created with one of my favorite photos of my son from 2007.
When picking which patterned papers to use, I kept coming back to the Batty for Candy page because I love the scene it creates. To begin, I used the stencil with grit paste to add a bit of sparkly dimension on which to place the photo.
Next, I cut strips of paper from the 6 x 8 pad, distressed the edges, and stitched them in place.
After backing the photo and adhering it with foam strips, I began embellishing the layout. There are so many adorable elements in this collection (as in all Simple Stories collections).
Because the background paper creates a scene, I added a line of jack-o-lanterns, spiders, headstones, and a mummy along the bottom border. They are so cute lined up beneath the photo of Caleb.
To complete the project, I used a foam sticker to create the title and added enamel dots near the photo. It’s so cute!
Here’s one more peek at the completed project.
Halloween is a special time of year, and I am so glad to get this particular memory documented. It is quite literally my favorite photo of Caleb – his cute little face and ginormous eyes melt my heart.
Halloween is fast approaching, so be sure to grab the Simple Stories FaBOOlous Collection! It is perfect for all of your holiday crafts. Thank you for stopping by today, and I hope you are inspired to create.
