It's Your Day! by Cheryl Gerhard
Hi Simple Stories friends! Cheryl here today with a cute storage box for all of your handmade cards. I don’t know about you, but I always forget to send cards, because I can never find them in my craft room. I created this card holder, so my handmade cards can have a beautiful home, until they’re ready to be sent.
I made this chipboard box to fit the cards (that I have created from the Celebrate card kit) perfectly and it looks super cute too. Of course, I had to use my favourite pink paper from the collection, it’s so fun and bright. I used one of the gorgeous chipboard frames to decorate the lid and created a shaker with some pink & mint sequins, which I had in my craft room.
On the inside I used a Color Vibe paper in mint and I just love the dotted texture these solid coloured paper have. I also used a matching pink one for some dividers, which you’ll see in a minute. Velcro dots help to keep the lid shut.
And because there isn’t already enough pink, I decided to use hot pink thread and did sewing around all of the dividers and a softer pink on my actual box and handmade cards. Looking at all the fun colours makes me so happy.
Circle stickers from the sticker book act as tabs and you could easily label them with names, months, days etc. depending on how you like to store your handmade cards. I thought it would be a good way to divide all of my cards, so I can have one for each friend/occasion.
The Celebrate card kit is a fantastic way to build your stash of cards and the instructions are very easy to follow. I added my own touch to some of them with sewing, doilies, sequins, vellum and lots of paint splatters.
This is such a great collection to create cards with, as well as document your Birthdays, parties etc. The colours are so versatile and will fit any occasion.

This is such an adorable idea! It’d be nice to have one to keep my own cards, but wow, what a great gift idea! Can’t wait to make one of my own. Would love it if you ever considered making a more in-depth tutorial. A video would be so helpful! Thanks for sharing.
