It's Showtime! by Amber Mitchell

Hi crafty friends! Amber Mitchell here on the Simple Stories blog today to share with you a fun, all-about-family, mini album I created using the Family Fun collection. This collection is full of traditions that I had growing up, and still have, with my family: playing video games and board games, going out to eat, having parties, and watching movies. This collection has filled me with such nostalgia and I had a blast putting this cute mini together.

To create this mini, I started with a chipboard base. The covers measure 3.25 x 4.25 inch while the spine measures 2 x 4.25 inch. I wrapped my base using a fun star-patterned paper from Family Fun and lined it with Color Vibe Cardstock in the shade TEAL. To give the album a more finished look, I added the same color of cardstock to the outer spine and tied a yellow checkered ribbon around the seam.

To decorate the cover of the album, I used a mix of coordinating Family Fun embellishments. I machine stitched along a few chipboard stickers to add texture and layered these pieces up with more stickers and a decorative brad. To finish off the cover, I added some rolled paper flowers to the outer edge for a bit of added fun.

To embellish the spine of my album I machine stitched a foam sticker that says “together” down the center. This draws the eye in further. I also used some wooden beads from my stash and scrap paper from this project to create a cluster of tassels to hang from the spine.

As for the pages of my album, I used cut apart sheets from the Family Fun collection kit. I used some 3x4 cards as well as some tags. I machine stitched along the edges of all of my pages for added texture, punched a hole in the tops of them and added them to my album using a white 1.25 inch binder ring.

To the right side of my album, I added a photo mat using Color Vibe Cardstock in the shade CREAM. This will be a great place to showcase a favorite family photo.

When it came to embellishing all of my pages, I used a mix of all of the embellishments from Family Fun. I love incorporating and mixing all of the different textures together. The cardstock stickers shine while the chipboard stickers pop and the phrase stickers add for perfect sentiments!

This cute album is ready to hold all those special family memories now and I can’t wait to fill it up with them! Thanks so much for stopping by my post today! I’ll see you next time with another fun project!
